About the Oral Health Programme
In New Zealand, the Combined Dental Agreement (CDA) provides free oral health education and treatment to:
- children referred by the Children’s Oral Health service
- all adolescents from the start of high school until the day they turn 18 years old.
The CDA is reviewed every three years, over which time we support all 20 DHBs nationwide. It is used to contract around 900 providers.
TAS supports DHBs by providing project management and analytical services to the governance group that oversees:
- publicly-funded oral health services for adolescents
- specialist dental services for children and adolescents.
TAS also leads the reviews through our Planning and Collaboration team.
